Recently JCB has built upon the successful TM320 and TM320S telescopic wheeled loaders with the addition of a new flagship model. The new JCB TM420 offers everything its predecessor did and more, thanks to its beefed-up build.

Features

  • Regenerative hydraulics, allowing for faster boom lowering due to a valve allowing oil from one side of the larger lift cylinder piston to flow to the other side faster. This provides 32% more lift capacity, leaving it capable of lifting 4,100kg to a height of 5.4 metres – 900kg more and 200mm higher than the TM320S.
  • Tougher chassis and boom construction with larger pins and bushes for the centre pivot and loader.
  • Heavier duty axles offering permanent four-wheel drive for the increased load carrying.
  • Larger tyres are also an option on the new 26in rims, featuring twice as many studs – 10 for each hub.
  • Even though the TM420 proves greater ability, it retains nearly the same wheelbase and size as the other models, making it just as manoeuvrable.

Engine: Four-cylinder JCB EcoMAX, 4.8-litre Tier 4 final engine equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology.

    Power: 145hp (108kW) with 560Nm of torque.

Transmission: Six-speed powershift, torque convertor with lock-up from gear two onwards.

    Lift capacity: 4,100kg.

    Lift height: 5,450mm.

    Bucket tear out capacity: 7,000kg.

    JCB 419S

JCB is set to show off its 419S wheeled loader at this year’s show. Having replaced the 418S, the 419S features an all-new chassis as well as increased power and torque from its 6.7 litre Cummins six-cylinder engine.

It churns out a peak 183hp (136kW), up 5% on its predecessor. The main differences to the 419S is its all-new front and rear chassis design, longer wheelbase and bigger axles, enabling larger tyres up to 750/65 R26 to be fitted.

A Rexroth load-sensing piston hydraulic pump with up to 180-litre/min capacity ensures strong performance from the front end, with an overall lift height of 3.48 metres as standard, or 3.71 metres if the high lift arms are opted for.

The 419S features a ZF six-speed powershift gearbox with a low first gear and torque convertor lock up in all gears. It has the ability to travel at speeds up to 48km/h on the road.

The 419S offers JCB’s latest Command Plus cab, 15% bigger than the previous design, with improved visibility and control for optimum operator comfort.

The 419S also comes with a reversible engine fan as standard. The operator can make adjustments to engaging time intervals through the CommandPlus control centre as well as many other machine adjustments.
