The talent on display at the third National Junior Baking Competition, which took place at the National Ploughing Championships, was immense, but it was Jessica Doherty from Leitrim who came out on top.
Sponsored by Aldi, in association with Foróige, and the National Ploughing Association, the theme for the contest this year was lemon drizzle cake.
Jessica, will now see her unique lemon drizzle cake being stocked in all 129 Aldi stores nationwide. She has also bagged a group trip for her Foróige club to an outdoor pursuit centre, and a €1,000 bursary fund for herself.

The county and regional finals were held nationally through Foróige, before the semi-finals and final took place in the Aldi Marquee at the National Ploughing Championships. CL
