Spread-a-Bale launched its Combi-Bale dual-function machine designed to feed bales and spread straw.

The side-mounted design is based on Spread-a-Bale’s HR straw spreading machine which features a head with one single horizontal rotor with the addition of newly designed bladed-edge tines. A new diverter valve and dual-speed motor controls the rotor’s direction.

The bladed-edge tines rotate in an anti-clockwise direction, chopping and feeding out silage into the feed passage or fence, as well as loading directly into a mixer wagon, while the clockwise rotation throws straw up to 15 metres.

Performance has been upgraded with the addition of new high-flow hydraulics enabling the machine to deliver 46% more power.

It says that compared to a conventional turbine combination machine, the Combi-Bale has a reduced power requirement. The Combi-Bale head is available with Mini, Midi, Midi XL, Maxi and Maxi XL body sizes, as well as a trailed chassis for the Midi size and upwards.
