While social restrictions due to COVID-19 might have sadly put a stop to many charity events this year, Irish organisers are getting more creative in order to raise much-needed funds - and have fun in the process.
For example, this Saturday 6 June, there will be a Guinness World Record attempt for the world’s largest virtual dip in aid of Aoibheann’s Pink Tie for vital childhood cancer services, with the aim of posting the most photos of people in water on Facebook in one hour.
Organisers are encouraging participants to don their togs or bikinis – be it in the bath, shower or paddling pool if they can’t get to the beach – and then post their picture on the Facebook event page between 2pm and 3pm. All photos will be part of a big online mosaic, as well as a picture of the “Largest Virtual Dip”.
