Quicke N Series makes show debut

Farmhand, the Irish Quicke importer, debuted its new N series loader ranges at Tullamore Show.

Officially launched earlier this year, the new N series range is available in both mechanical self-levelling and non-self-levelling versions, and is designed to fit tractors ranging from 80hp to 180hp. The range was developed to slot between the existing X and Q series loaders, for those requiring the strength of the Q series without all its bells and whistles.

The model on display was the N5S which offers a maximum 1,790kg lift capacity at maximum height and a maximum lift height of 4.06 to the pivot pin.

Quicke claims that visibility and simplicity were two important factors when designing the N Series. The N-series is equipped with features including a hydraulic multicoupler, SoftDrive suspension for smooth operation and a third function as standard, with the option of a fourth.

Customers can choose from the QM-command or QE-command control systems, as well as options of Live3, LoaderLight, Q-Lock and SelectoFix.

Rainbow Engineering shows off its multi-purpose trailer

Local exhibitors, Rainbow Engineering based in Ferbane, Co Offaly put on its best display of agricultural trailers yet at this year’s Tullamore Show. Alongside its dedicated bale trailer range and attracting plenty of attention was its 15ft multi-purpose trailer. This trailer was equipped with a 4ft removable extension as well as front and rear bale racks. Integral to the trailer’s design is the disappearing rear door which doesn’t need to be removed for transporting bales in its extended configuration, instead it folds fully flat so that it is level with the floor.

The trailer comes well specified as standard, some of which includes eight-stud sprung axles shod with 550/45 R22.5 tyres, crash rails, 2ft high galvanised removable sides, twin tipping rams and LED lights. Other options include galvanised bale racks, sprung drawbar, 560 tyres and 10-stud high speed commercial axle with air brakes. The trailer on display was priced at €15,000 plus VAT.

Weidemann 4060T

Weidemann loaders were well represented at this year’s show by two dealers: Lyons & Burton and Mayo-based Kirrane Machinery. Both showcased the latest 4060T model, officially launched earlier this year.

Like the other two models in the range (2060 and 3060), the 4060 is available with a fixed or telescopic boom (T).

Most noticeably, the revamped 60-series features a facelifted design particularly around the bonnet and cab areas. When shaping the tail of the machine, importance was placed on a good slope angle for improved visibility. The 4060T features a 75hp four-cylinder Kohler engine and a dual-range 20km/h ecDrive (electronic controlled drive) hydrostatic transmission. However, a 30km/h transmission option is available. The 4060T has a max lift height of 5.04m and max lift capacity of 3,700kg.

Dutch Solar feeder touches down in Ireland

Connacht Agri Supplies showcased the Hanskamp RFID solar feeder for the first time at Tullamore Show this year.

On display was the mobile four-station feeder from Hanskamp. The solution makes it possible for cattle to get an individual and automatic distribution of concentrates while out grazing. A 2,230l hopper dispenses meal to up to four animals at a time.

Working via EID ear tag or neck transponders, the system recognises each individual cow on entry, where it will be fed in accordance with the amount set by the farmer or refused feed once the daily allowance has been met.

The level of feed remaining in the hopper can be monitored remotely along with feed rates per animal which can also be adjusted remotely. The 4G linked system can be paired with a feed management package, in accordance to yield.

Similar to the many calf feeders on the market, farmers will be alerted of animals that have not eaten. Alternatively, the feed station can be plugged into mains electricity and used inside a shed.

Compact Kramer KT316 makes its first appearance in the Republic of Ireland

John Deere dealers Templetuohy Farm Machinery (TFM) put on a wide display of M and R series tractors suiting both small- and large-scale farms. In addition to tractors, TFM showcased a selection of Kramer loaders, one of which was the all-new compact KT316 telehandler.

The recently launched KT316 is a brand-new machine size from Kramer that was not previously offered and therefore widens the brand’s appeal to more farmers. Measuring 2.09m wide and 2.15m high, the KT316 offers a maximum stacking height of 5.83m and a maximum payload of 3,100kg. Underneath the bonnet is a 112hp Deutz engine matched with a 109l/min hydraulic pump and 40km/h hydrostatic transmission. Entry to the cab has also been improved due to a notched floor step. Inside the cab, all machine data is displayed and adjusted through the 7in LCD display and rotary dial.

The Kramer KT316 is a brand-new offering from the German manufacturer.
