Fendt first took the wraps off the 500 Vario series back in 2011, and has built over 25,000 models to date. The new Gen4 series features four models (513, 514, 515 and 516), with the new series now having a maximum power range from 134 to 164hp. Similar to the larger series, the 500 series now gains Fendt’s Dynamic Performance (DP) added-power concept, which releases an additional 10hp when required.

The 5l, four-cylinder AGCO Power Core 50 engine now combines with the Fendt iD low-speed concept, with a nominal speed of 1,900 rpm with a high torque at of up to 792 Nm on the flagship 516 Vario model. Similar to other AGCO Core engines, the ’50’ engine is approved for HVO.

Fendt iD says that its low-speed concept allows the tractor to run at only 1,300rpm at 40km/h and 1,600rpm at 50km/h.

The 500 Vario is equipped with Fendt ONE as standard, meaning it features all the smart options of the Fendt larger tractors.

VarioDrive

The single-stage VarioDrive TA120 drive features independent four-wheel drive. In addition, there is no need for manual shifting when switching between field and road. VarioDrive drives the front and rear axles independently of each other. Another advantage of VarioDrive is the so-called pull-in-turn effect. When cornering, the independently driven front axle actively pulls the machine into the corner without torsion.

Payload

Fendt says its 500 Vario Gen4 series is built for heavy loads, with a payload of up to 4.9t and a permissible overall weight of 11.75t. This means that mounted implements or trailers with a drawbar load of up to 4t are legal. If the tractor recognises overrun when driving on a slope, it automatically applies the pneumatic brake of the trailer.

The range feature a new four-speed PTO, with two economy PTOs working in the partial load range for implements such as fertiliser spreaders or sprayers. In the Power+ version, the tractor features either 110 or 152l/min hydraulic flow rates with up to eight spool valves. Up to nine spools are available in the Profi+ version.

Fendt is offeing VarioGrip in the new series, which is an integrated tyre pressure regulation system, allowing tyre pressure to be set in the terminal.

The first of the new Fendt 500 Vario series will be delivered from spring 2026.

Cab

The 500 Vario is equipped with Fendt ONE as standard, meaning it features all the smart options of the Fendt larger tractors. Another new feature is the integration of Apple CarPlay into the infotainment via cable or Bluetooth. As already known from the automotive sector, operation is carried out via the terminal on the armrest. This software will be rolled out in June 2026.

The 500 series gains the optional Fendt Ground Vision drawbar lighting which illuminates the area directly at the rear of the machine.

On one hand, the area directly in front of the implement and its front is illuminated in field use, and on the other hand, it simplifies the attachment of implements in the dark. The lights are integrated at the lower end of the rear fenders.

A reversible fan, which can be controlled via the in-cab terminal, is available as an option for the 500 Vario.

Fendt iD says that its low-speed concept allows the tractor to run at only 1,300rpm at 40km/h and 1,600rpm at 50km/h.

New generation of front-loader

Fendt offers two new generation front-loaders: the Cargo and Cargo Profi. There are two classes and designs, with the Cargo 4.75 and 4.80 models, each with a tyre-independent overloading height of 4.17m. Fendt says the S arm design was developed for standard loader requirements, with a focus on visibility, low weight and high stability.

The Cargo Profi version includes an integrated weighing function with target weight loading. It comes with the optional 3L-joystick which can be used to operate three functions simultaneously. The Fendt Active overlay steering feature reduces the steering turns required for full steering angles.

Fendt says that with its panoramic window in the Visio Plus cab, the driver has an all-round visibility of over 72%. The Fendt 500 Vario series can be ordered from September 2025.

The first machines will be delivered from spring 2026.
