On Wednesday 29 April, just six weeks from now, thousands of farmers, contractors and machinery enthusiasts from all corners of the country will descend on Cuffesgrange, Co Kilkenny for what is set to be the largest, live silage cutting demonstration event of the decade.
Grass2026 is a new event to mark the start of the 2026 silage season, hosted by the Irish Farmers Journal, supported by FBD Insurance.
On the day, visitors can expect to see the newest machines undertake the entire silage-making process live in one place, from mowing, tedding, raking and harvesting with balers, forage wagons and forage harvesters from all industry leading brands.
In addition to live commentary throughout the day, there will be live pit and bale handling demonstrations taking place back in the yard.
Trade village
And if live demonstrations weren’t enough of a spectacle, there will be a lively trade village jammed packed with machinery trade stands and services, even beyond grass equipment. Here, manufacturers, importers and dealers will be on hand to answer all your machinery needs.
Interest has been exceptional so far, with almost 70 exhibitors confirmed, highlighting the importance of Grass2026 as a key meeting point for farmers, contractors, operators and agri-businesses.
Brands taking part in the working demonstration include: McHale, New Holland, Krone, Kverneland, Malone, SIP, Tanco, Goweil, Samasz, Smyth, HiSpec, Keltec, Prodig Attachments, Wilson Engineering and Samco.
Further updates on demonstrations, exhibitors and visitor information will be released over the coming weeks as the event approaches.
