Beefed-up flail head from Spearhead

The new Spearhead Powerdrive Pro hedge cutter flail head, exhibited by Irish importer H Fulton Tractors, caught the attention of many.

Distinguished by its green colour, the new Powerdrive Pro head was fitted to a Twiga S60 hedge cutter model.

The smaller 1.3m 130 model is offered alongside the larger 1.6m 160 model, offered for Classic, Mid and Pro models.

The Powerdrive Pro is equipped with a thicker wall, larger diameter rotor for higher rotational speeds.

New features include a sleek design, comprising mostly curved edges to minimise debris build up and a stronger and more enclosed cowl

The design now features a 60% flail overlap. The mulching zone above the rotor and canopy has been increased to allow for improved performance. A toothed belt drive system is now integrated and for improved protection.

New features include a sleek design, comprising mostly curved edges to minimise debris build up and a stronger and more enclosed cowl with a wraparound front rubber flap.

Although a little wider, the 130 model weighs 470kg, in comparison with the current Powerdrive 120 model at 390kg.

Flexibility with Slurryquip HiLift reel

The HiLift reeler from Slurryquip allows greater flexibility to spread slurry with or without the bobbin attached.

The Slurryquip stand didn’t disappoint in terms of new innovation again this year – with the HiLift pickup reeler and SpreadCommand Isobus system on offer.

Both tailored towards the umbilical user, the new HiLift pickup reel has been designed for Slurryquip’s 12 and 15m double macerator dribble bars.

The system uses a hydraulic lifting mechanism that allows the drop-out bobbin to be elevated into a raised position, enabling it to stay in place while spreading, if required. With the current classic solution, operators must remove the bobbin before spreading.

The second solution on show was the SpreadCommand Isobus system. This system is specifically designed for use with umbilical systems and provides operators with complete control of all hydraulic functions via the tractor’s existing Isobus terminal.

The system uses a switchable load-sensing hydraulic block for adaptable performance, integrated flowmeter data for real-time monitoring and mapping capabilities for detailed record-keeping.

Both of the new solutions are now available on the brand’s 12m and 15m double macerator dribble bar systems, with reel options of 800m or 1,200m.

The HiLift reeler, complete with a 12m dribble bar and flow meter, is priced at €35,000 plus VAT.

Compact straw blower from Teagle

The compact 6100H model has been designed for use with compact loaders in tighter facilities.

Teagle officially launched its new hydraulically driven compact Tomahawk 6100H straw blower onto the Irish market this week.

The model has been introduced in response to demand from the market for a compact machine suitable for use with compact pivot/telescopic handlers and skid steers and for tighter facilities.

It builds on the reputation and technical expertise developed in the Telehawk model, now the Tomahawk 6200H, and offers the same convenience, coupling up in around 60 seconds, and 30% straw savings over manual bedding.

The Tomahawk 6100H has been designed for loaders with a lift capacity of 1.2-1.3t, and minimum hydraulic flow from 40-50l/min. It has capacity for one 1.5m (5ft) round bale, or half a rectangular bale, and will blow straw up to 12m.

As standard, the Tomahawk 6100H features Wi-Fi control of the 280° swivel chute (Hardox included) and a start/stop fan to pause processing. Load-sensing on the cross beater automatically reverses the bed chain to ensure an even flow of material.

Options include extension sides and a hydraulic bale clamp with Wi-Fi control, so the operator can stay in the handler seat when loading. Teagle says that handler brackets are available for most brands. In addition, a three-point linkage bracket is available for smaller tractors. Pricing starts at €15,500 plus VAT.

New skid steer on the block

The Takeuchi range of tracked skid steer loaders comprises four models.

Ploughing 2025 marked the Irish launch of Takeuchi’s tracked skid steer range. Takeuchi dealer Breens Farm Machinery displayed the TL12V-2 model, the largest in the four-model tracked-loader (TL) range.

The TL12V-2 has a maximum lift height of 3.3m (to bucket pins) and a maximum tipping load of 5,325kg. It is equipped with a 110hp Kubota engine and two-speed transmission offering a maximum forward speed of 11.8km/h.

As standard, an 88l/min primary hydraulic system is offered, although a 153l/min high-flow configuration is optionally available with a further option for a second 88l/min auxiliary circuit. However, Breens intends to spec the larger capacity pump for the Irish market. Inside the cab, all hydraulic functions are controlled via hydraulic pilot controls. The TL12V-2 comes equipped with 400mm-wide tracks. Pricing starts at €102,000 plus VAT.

Schaffer’s latest cab arrives at the Ploughing

The new Schaffer 8620T-3 and 9640T-3 models feature improved hydraulic performance alongside a cab upgrade.

Schaffer’s new cab attracted considerable interest at the Ploughing and marked its first sighting for the majority of visitors.

It was fitted on two of the four models; 5680T-3, 6680T-3, 8620T-3 and 9640T-3 exhibited by H Fulton Tractors, the brand’s Irish importer and distributor.

The new cab offers an 8% increase in volume, improved access and improved comfort over the current generation. Visibility has also been improved due to the larger windscreen and sleeker bonnet design.

Integral to the new cabin is the 10-inch touchscreen terminal, new control arm and joystick.

Other small updates with the new cab include new LED lights, an improved door release mechanism, double mirrors, an automatic bucket shake function, third-service oil regulation and upper and lower bucket limits.

These are selected and configured via the new terminal.

Both models feature improved hydraulic performance due to a more efficient load-sensing system.

The 102hp or 129hp 8620T-3 can lift loads of up to 4.2t to a height of 5.2m. The larger 9640 T-3 is fitted with a 143hp engine and has a lifting capacity of 4t and a lifting height of 5.4m.
