A total of 249 new tractors were registered in the Republic of Ireland during May, a 55% increase on May 2024, according to the most recent registration data reported by the Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA).
After two consecutive months of growth, the five-month year-to-date total has returned to a growth state, up 4% with a total of 1,274 new registrations in comparison to 2024. The counties of Cork, Tipperary and Galway continue to lead the way in terms of new registration numbers for the year-to-date. The most popular power band is the 161hp to 200hp category, which for May 2025 accounted for 26.9% of all new tractor registrations, down from 28.8% in April.
The FTMTA data shows that 275 imported used tractors were first-time registered in Ireland in May 2025, 73 more units than in May 2024.
This takes the total number of used tractor registrations for the first five months to 1,259 units which is up 22 units on 2024.
