Limerick machinery manufacturer Samco has just added a folding stone fork to its growing product portfolio. Samco has designed a stone fork to be mounted on the front linkage, allowing the operator to pick stones as they come across them, from the comfort of the operator’s seat.
This can be done while tilling, sowing, drilling, rolling, etc. Fitted with two heavy-duty rams to dig stones out of the ground, Samco said that the tines can tilt out over 35 degrees, which makes unloading stones user-friendly.
With rural Irish roads being narrow and fast-paced, Samco said it wanted to make the stone fork as safe as possible. To achieve this, the stone fork folds up fully flush with the frame, making it safer when pulling out of fields onto roads. When folded, the stone fork resembles an Agri Bumper without compromising visibility.
If a front ballast is required, an integrated weight carrier allows up to 800kg of weight to be added, bringing the overall weight to 1,300kg. These weights are added between the front arms so as not to impair vision.
If weights are not required, a toolbox is also available as an optional extra. Thanks to the design, Samco claims that you don’t need a hydraulic top link so just one double-acting function to work the rams on the fork.
The unit is priced at €3,500 plus VAT.
