Tramspread will launch a new 24m vertical folding dribble bar at LAMMA in January.

The company introduced its first 24m umbilical dribble bar 15 years ago, designed for 24m tramlines applying slurry and digestate to growing crops.

With its new model, the firm says extensive practical experience has gone into the design.

The new boom now folds vertically, in addition to its close-coupling, which Tramspread says makes it suitable for use with any appropriately sized tractor of around 150hp. The new system has the ability to fold down to 18m, with shut-off taps.

Other features include breakback end sections, electrohydraulic controls using power beyond and left/right variable boom geometry.

Pipework from the front-mounted swinging arm through to the two macerators is 5” in diameter to accommodate high flow-rates.

The prototype is pictured, production versions will be galvanised.

There is the choice of macerators from Alrena or Vogelsang. When folded, the new 24m model allows full access to the tractor pickup hitch so that the applicator tractor can tow an engine driven pump unit between jobs.

Tramspread has been field-testing a prototype with sister company Tramspread Contracting for the past 18 months, during which time it has covered hundreds of hectares.

It says further testing is currently underway to assess its suitability for use with self-propelled tankers.
