The group, lead by Michael and Joan Grogan of Tumosan Ireland, based in Cloghan, Co Offaly, were allowed to get a glimpse of the new tractor that could be in production by the end of the summer.
This new tractor will be fitted with a four-cylinder turbo-charged engine that will be available at two power levels, either 115hp or 125hp.
The engine will be matched to either of two gearbox options, a 24 forward, 24 reverse mechanical shuttle unit, or a 12 forward, 12 reverse speed hydrostatic powershift gearbox. The gearbox is a Carraro design, as is the front driven axle.
The tractor has a beefier rear end with large capacity hydraulic assistor rams to boost the lifting power. The tractor will be supplied with a Bosch-type electronic linkage control system which will include fender controls of the linkage and the pto operation.
This tractor, with a new exterior design, and a fresh new cab, comes as Tumosan aim to move up the power band range and broadening their offering from their Turkish base.
The factory produces its own three-, four- and six-cylinder diesel engines for a host of tractor models, from the Fiat-like Classic series to the more modern looking 7000 and 8000 series tractors.
As it will be some time before we see the tractor in Ireland, there are no finalised prices just yet.
Michael Brogan of Tumosan said that it will be competitively priced and will be a new opportunity for Tumosan on the Irish market where tractors in the 115hp to 125hp category are the most popular.
