Cheffins’ collective vintage sale at Sutton, near Ely, took place on 24 April. A total of over 2,000 lots were offered, 250 of which were classic and vintage tractors.

Tractors achieved an 80% clearance rate, with the later classic examples selling for some of the highest prices of the sale.

The April sale was the first to see customers back bidding in person as well as online since the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

All prices include 6% commission, including VAT on commission only. However, all prices are subject to 20% VAT unless stated otherwise.

Leading the sale was a 1979 County 1174 which sold for £40,736 (€47,357). This particular machine was originally owned by Stansted Airport and had just 705 hours on the clock.

Following suit was a 1989 Ford 7810 Silver Jubilee which went under the hammer at £31,088 (€36,141). Claiming the third-highest price was a Massey Ferguson 1200 dating to 1974 which sold for £25,728 (€29,910).

Other lots included a 1968 Roadless 115 which made £19,296 (€22,432) (no VAT) and a 1988 Ford 7810 sold for £17,688 (€20,563). A 1952 Fordson E27N Major with a Selene 4WD conversion sold for £16,112 (€18,731) (no VAT).
