Coming up on a year from its first Irish appearance, the all new Manitou MLA-T loader was on display at the JH Fitzpatrick stand at this year’s Crops and Spreaders event.
The 143hp Manitou MLA-T 533-145 V+ is fitted with a M-Vario Plus CVT transmission.

The new MLA-T 533-145 V+ articulated wheel loader is powered by a 4.1 litre four-cylinder Deutz TCD engine capable of churning out a respectable 143hp meeting Stage IV emission regulations. Older-generation Manitou machines were powered by Perkins engines, so this new partnership with Deutz brings about one of the biggest changes to the new machines.
It is equipped with an M-Vario Plus continuous variable transmission (CVT) with a top speed of 40km/h. This transmission comprises two hydraulic motors with axial pistons powered by a hydraulic pump. It has two driving modes; one for handling material and the other for travelling on the road.
The telescopic arm has a maximum reach of 5.2m (17.1ft) with a lifting capacity of 3,300kg. The machine weighs 8,430kg and has a turning radius of 4.2m. The turning radius is achieved through the 44° articulation to either side of the machine.

The rear axle has the ability to swivel 9.5° to either side to maintain contact with the ground.
