Met Éireann has issued a level yellow high temperature alert for all of Ireland. Temperatures will hit 27°C in places today and are expected to exceed it in coming days.

While a yellow warning does not indicate risk for the entire population it does notify those who are at risk because of their location and/or activity.

Due to the nature of farm work, farmers are particularly exposed to warm conditions and are advised to take precautions.

The warning was issued this morning (Monday) at 6am and is valid until Friday 29 June at 9pm.
