The Millburn and Royal County dispersal takes place in Elphin Mart this Saturday after much anticipation. The sale of 78 lots includes all females from the herds with a few extra semen and embryos also.

Ahead of the sale we’ve picked out a few of the top lots.

First off is a firm favourite among most in attendance on Friday in the form of lot 20 Millburn Nightingale. This classy December 2018-born heifer is a daughter of Wilodge Vantastic and out of the brood cow Millburn Boddy Dazzler. Shown a number of times last year with top results, she has developed into a fantastic heifer and sells in-calf.

Next up is her full-sister at lot 30, Millburn Must Have. This heifer stood as reserve female and reserve overall champion at last year’s National Limousin sale in Tullamore.

Royal County

From the Royal County herd, lot 31 Royal County Princess has garnered a lot of interest. This rising yearling is a daughter of Whinfellpark Lomu goes back to a Foreman cow from the Drummin Cliona line.

This line is is very prominent in the Royal County lots, with three other direct daughters for sale.

Youngstock

Of the youngstock of the Millburn herd, Lot 31A Millburn Pretty jumps out. This September 2019-born heifer is a daughter of Bova AI Bull Loyal and out of a Gigolo-bred dam.

Two other young lots from Millburn, lot 35A and 35B, are a pair of Foreman daughters born in November and December last year. One is a natural daughter and the other an ET daughter out of Thomastown Ena. This cow was purchased at the Thomastown dispersal in 2016.

Royal County purchased the top-priced lot at this sale, Thomastown Hayley, who sells at lot 18. This eight-year-old cow by Sympa has a number of daughters also for sale.

The sale starts at 2pm and online bidding is available on the MartBids platform. For details, go to martbids.ie or download the app.
