Irish Ráil is seeking afforestation forestry services to work over a three-year period.

The service has a requirement for a forestry consultant to undertake afforestation site assessments and complete the necessary surveys.

The service will also have to produce a form one application for the Department of Agriculture, including all mapping requirements, site notice installation, INET application, further information requests and reports required for forestry appeals committee.

Irish Rail said it is looking for a company with “core expertise” in form one afforestation applications.

Applicants will also have to be able to provide an end-to-end service, including site assessments, determining fencing requirements and all groundwork requirements, have the resources in place to cover a nationwide network of land banks owned by any of the CIE Group and must be a registered company and have registered foresters with the Department and who are CPD accredited.

A separate tender will be developed to carry out any form two (planting) and form three (maintenance) work on sites submitted for application in this tender.

The deadline for applications is noon on Friday 5 September.
