Saturday 4 April saw 950 lots entered across three auction rings at Pollock Auctions monthly machinery sale held at The Showgrounds, Gillygooley Road, Omagh.

On offer was farm machinery, as well as plant, vehicles, tools and miscellaneous items.

A clearance rate of 89% was achieved, with auctioneer Adrian Pollock confirming that farmers at the sale were mainly interested in well-maintained machinery to be used over the spring season.

Buyers came from across NI and as far away as Galway, with the most competitive bidding for grassland and slurry equipment lots.

Trailers

Good quality, locally produced silage trailers sold easily, with a Woods 14ft x 7ft model (pictured) going for £3,450. Another standout price was a tractor tipping trailer (pictured) which sold for £3,850.

An NC Tandem axle slurry tanker on 550/22.5 tyres made £4,950, while an Abbey 1,100 gallon tanker sold for £3,000.

Overall, the sale demonstrated a healthy level of confidence amongst buyers. “It’s fair to say that limited availability recently has also helped sustain values,” said Adrian.

A strong entry of machinery across all sections is anticipated at the next auction on Saturday 2 May.
