A beef conference organised by the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) in partnership with CAFRE, will take place on Wednesday 10 June at Greenmount campus, starting at 9.30am.
The event, which is being held under the theme ‘Driving profitability, delivering sustainability’ will include a technical session in the morning, followed by a visit to the CAFRE Beef and Sheep Centre in the afternoon.
Speakers in the morning session include the CEO of the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC), Colin Smith, along with Dr Paul Crossan from Teagasc and Prof Michael Lee from Harper Adams.
Two Tyrone beef farmers, Declan Rafferty and Trevor Summerville, will give an insight into their farming operations via a virtual tour.

For those unable to attend during the day, there will be free on-farm visits running in the evening with groups leaving at 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm and 7.30pm. Booking is also required.
