Angus females have been in high demand this year and that trend continued on Friday evening 5 September at Mid-Tipp Mart, Thurles, for the Black Diamonds Sale.
Consigned by the Mount, Ryans and Portauns herds, the sale consisted of 59 breeding females and four lots of embryos.

When all was said and done, an almost 100% clearance was reported by auctioneer Tom Cox, with a sale average of €4,100.
A strong customer base from southern Ireland was boosted by demand for two red heifers from Portugal and eight black heifers selling to Northern Ireland.
