Sunday's National Hereford Show at the FBD National Livestock Show in Tullamore was possibly the largest show of pedigree Hereford cattle in Europe this year.
Just over 140 pedigree Hereford cattle went in front of UK judge George Harvey, all looking to be crowned supreme champion of the show.
In the end, it was Appel Uno PP which came out on top for Cork breeders John and Beatrice Appelbe.
A full-polled bull, Uno is sired by the herd's former stock bull Solpoll 1 Lawman, which was overall champion at Tullamore in 2017.
On the dam's side, his mother Appel 1 Pretty Daffy is a daughter of Netherhall 1 Oz Daffy M040 ET.
Uno followed in father's footsteps, first claiming the overall male championship before going on to be draped with the overall Hereford championship sash.
Corlismore pair
Standing reserve overall to Uno was the overall female champion Corlismore Beauty 298 HH, exhibited by Sean and Gary McKiernan.
A daughter of Allowdale Rambo 475 and Corlismore Beauty 031, this 13-month-old heifer fought off some terrific opposition to win the prestigious Hereford heifer of the year award, before Harvey made her overall female champion.

Pushing her all the way in the heifer of the year championship was her companion Corlismore Sydney 308 PH, which was awarded reserve Hereford heifer of the year.
This Solpoll 1 Pounder daughter is just coming up on 12 months old and capped off a fantastic day for the Cavan-based herd.
The Drumm family from Co Westmeath tasted success with their three-year-old cow-and-calf outfit Grianan Orange A974, which took home the reserve overall female championship.
A daughter of Grianan Parker, this productive young female goes back to the ever-prolific Orange family at Grianan.
Bull of the year
Another much sought-after accolade at the National Hereford Show is the national Hereford bull of the year and this year it was Michael O'Keeffe from Co Cork who secured number one spot with Gurteragh Superstar 1156PH.
This much-fancied yearling bull is a son of Mullaghdoopoll 1 Finnian and Kingsgrove1 Laer Kylie.
He went on to make it an all-Cork affair in the males by obtaining the reserve male championship.
Reserve Hereford bull of the year went the way of Mark Hyland from Co Leitrim, with the January 2025-born bull calf Hillock Showman HH.
This promising young horned bull is a son of Treantaghpoll 1 Ronaldo and Hillockpoll 1 Ann, mother of the 2024 National Hereford Show champion Hillockpoll 1 Ivy.
Commenting on the show, breed secretary Alan Crowe said: "It's been a wonderful day for the breed and extremely positive for next year's National Hereford Show in Tullamore, which will coincide with the World Hereford Conference."
