Dumfries and Galloway’s Dairy Women Network is hosting an evening on Tuesday, 13 March, at 7pm, in the Lauire Arms Hotel, Haugh of Urr. A representative from Clydesdale Bank and from Armstrong Watson will be the speakers on the evening. It will be an informal event, with plenty of questions and discussion.
Scottish bard supper

The Balfron & Menteith and Kelvin branches were in the Burns night spirit last week, hosting a joint supper to honour the Scottish bard. Well-known raconteur Fergus Wood officiated providing stories about Burns, singing his songs and reciting his poetry, much to the entertainment of the dinner guests.
Future trade
NFU Scotland has told an enquiry being held by the House of Commons International Trade Committee on future trade with New Zealand and Australia. Current trade is finely balanced and that any sudden changes in market access for agricultural products from Australia and New Zealand would damage domestic production, particularly for the sheep meat and beef sectors.
Tenancy rules
The Union has welcomed the new rules introduced for tenanted agricultural holdings regarding repairs and maintenance obligations. The code provides guidance for landlords and tenants in relation to their obligations and behaviour towards repair and maintenance issues on tenanted holdings. More information can be found at the NFUS website.
