Moy Park is looking to increase broiler production on existing rearing units across NI, reversing a decision to cut bird numbers back in the spring of 2019 when the company reacted to a more challenging market, and the loss of a major retail contract.

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that suppliers can now produce up to seven bird crops per year after the company secured new contracts for poultry meat.

Existing rearing units must also complete an annual inspection to certify that housing facilities are compliant with welfare requirements.
