MSD is a healthcare company with a portfolio of prescription medicines, vaccines and animal health products and it employs 2,300 people directly in Ireland.

MSD develops new therapies which treat and prevent disease. The animal health side of the business supplies veterinary pharmaceuticals to customers across the island of Ireland, providing a full range of vaccines and pharmaceutical products for cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs, cats, horse, poultry and aquaculture.

MSD is exhibiting at the Agri Careers Fair in the RDS on Thursday 30 March and will be recruiting for a range of roles. Some of the roles MSD is looking to fill are in the area of engineering, such as chemical engineer, site energy engineer and process safety engineer.

Process safety engineer

Just to hone in on one of these engineering roles, the process safety engineer ensures new products and plant modifications are introduced in a safe and compliant manner.

For this role, the company is looking for someone with over five years’ experience working in a regulated environment in a similar role.

Candidates should have a bachelor of engineering degree in a related discipline and a process safety certificate. This role will be based in Cork.

MSD will also be looking to fill technician roles such as primary production technician (fermentation), primary production technician (general service) and biologics process technician. There are also roles for upstream technical specialist and purification technical specialist, while the company is also looking for fermentation specialists.

The roles available at the fair are spread across locations, which include Brinny in Cork, Ballydine in Tipperary and Milton Keys in the UK.
