Auctioneer Denis Barrett presided over a clearance of 73% at the Munster Angus Breeders show and sale in Golden Vale Mart, Kilmallock, on Saturday 4 April. An average price of €4,570 represented an increase of €150 on the 2025 sale. According to a spokesperson for the group: "Trade was notably strong for bulls carrying higher genetic indexes, with six bulls selling for €5,000 or more. Demand came from a broad customer base, including dairy, suckler and pedigree herds."

Top price on the day was €5,800, achieved by Bantrybay Aero, from the herd of Eoin Lynch, Bantry, Co Cork. Backed up by a solid set of figures, this August-2024-born bull is a son of Carrigroe Sea Salt. Eoin's second entry, Bantrybay Days of Saltburn, also sold well at €4,000, another August-2024-born son of Carrigroe Sea Salt.
