A 42-acre non-residential farm at Monfin, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, remains unsold after being withdrawn at public auction last week. The property was offered in three separate lots of circa 27.5 acres, circa 10 acres and circa 4.5 acres. The option was also presented to the 30 people in attendance to purchase the entire. However, this option received no interest and so auctioneer David Quinn proceeded to the lots.

Lot one was the largest at circa 27.5 acres and received considerable interest from three bidders. The lot opened at €220,000 and was bid to €300,000. At this point it was withdrawn and active negotiations have ensued since with a deal hopeful.

The second lot of circa 10 acres saw bidding begin at €70,000. This rose to €100,000, at which point it was withdrawn and again negotiations are ongoing.

The final lot of circa 4.5 acres started at €30,000 and reached €45,000 before being withdrawn. Negotiations continue.

Overall, the land was on course to make nearly €10,600/acre if the hammer had dropped at the auction. The sale is being handled by David Quinn of Quinn Property Auctioneers.
