Munster Auctions recently held its third and final general farm machinery clearance auction of the year. With 116 lots up for grabs, an 83% clearance rate was achieved on the evening. The auction was hosted using a hybrid approach, with bidders ringside and online, and bidding taking place through the Martbids app.

According to auctioneer Martin Lonergan, there were 106 individual online bidders, while 1,223 spectators tuned in as online viewers. He explained that there is currently a very strong appetite for genuine machinery. He added that the buyer demographic from this sale featured buyers from Galway, Wexford, Kerry, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Limerick, Cork and Kildare.

Some stand out prices on the evening included €23,500 for a clean New Holland TM115 range command tractor with a Rossmore FL80 front-end loader, €21,000 for a JCB JS 130 13t excavator with 9,500 hours, €15,000 for a 2007 Renault Master horsebox, €6,000 for an immaculate 2018 Tuffmac 12x6 livestock trailer with a slurry tank, €13,500 (plus VAT) for a Hitachi Zaxis 27, 3t mini excavator and €3,450 for a Major galvanised slurry tanker.
