New tractor registrations took a dip in June, with just 69 new tractors registered according to the latest FTMTA Machinery Statistics Service. The figures show a market of 1,309 new tractors for the first six months of the year, compared with 1,274 for the same period of 2013. This shows a 3% market increase for the year.
Cork accounted for the highest registrations for the year to date as 174 new tractors were registered. Tipperary was next with 116, while Wexford was third at 95 new tractors.
Tractor power is increasing and tractors in the power band between 101hp and 120hp now account for almost 44% of new tractors registered. Smaller tractors under 100hp only account for 15% of all new tractors registered in Ireland.
