Bóthar is calling on farmers, schools and communities to donate a calf to support their spring calf appeal for needy families in the developing world. Irish dairy cows give about 16-20 litres of milk per day, whereas in Rwanda, the indigenous cow produces just one litre per day. Each family that receives an Irish dairy heifer will get expert training in livestock care and pass on the first-born female calf to another family. To get involved, contact Pat Mullins, Bóthar on freephone 1800-268-463 or email patmullins@bothar.ie
