I heard that Danny Healy-Rae fought to maintain his place on the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture.
News broke last Thursday that the Government intended to remove him following his vote last week.
That evening, at a Kerry IFA meeting, he highlighted the importance of the county having him as a voice for Kerry on the committee.
However, the Government side-stepped the issue by replacing him with Michael Cahill of Fianna Fáil.
