The Agri-Food Regulator has been announced as the supporter of the savoury pantry categories at Blas na hÉireann 2026, the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country.
Niamh Lenehan, CEO of the Agri-Food Regulator, said that it relishes the opportunity to partner with Blas na hÉireann, pardon the pun. Chutneys, oils, jellies, salt and other products feature in the savoury pantry categories which are all agri-food products, Lenehan pointed out. Suppliers of agri-food products are provided legal protection against 16 specific unfair trading practices (UTPs) by their larger buyers and can submit complaints to the Agri-Food Regulator.
The winners of the savoury pantry categories will be announced at the awards ceremony in Dingle on 2 October.
