The Dealer did a double take when browsing social media over breakfast this week, when confronted with a notice from the UK’s Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).

“To walk your pet pig, you need an APHA walking licence with a pre-approved route, renewed yearly,” this notice reminded netizens.

The Dealer did some digging and discovered that those in the UK wishing to take their pet porkies for a saunter had to apply for a license before they could so.

Readers were informed that proposed pig-walking routes that pass close to livestock markets, pig farms or fast-food restaurant could be rejected, but even after wading through all the Ts and Cs, The Dealer was left with more questions than answers.
