I’m hearing that some Dairygold farmers are pushing for a former chair of the co-op to be brought back onto the board, but this time as an external director.
There are two external directors on the Dairygold board, along with 10 farmer co-op representatives. One of these, Annette Flynn, is approaching the end of her term.
A WhatsApp message has been circulating among suppliers suggesting former chair Vincent Buckley be appointed to replace her. It cites his “strong track record” and “huge grassroots support”.

This campaign began before chief financial officer JP McGrath’s departure was announced. My understanding is that as McGrath’s departure will leave the boardroom with 11 men, the new appointment will be a woman, and one with financial expertise.
