The annual ranking of retail brands in Ireland came out during the week, and I took a quick look at it to see if there was anyone I recognised.
While there were a couple of red-herrings in the list (I am assured that “Red Bull” at number six has nothing to do with Jersey breeding stock), it was great to see Avonmore make it into eight place.
A co-op and farmer-owned brand performing so well against international heavy-weights says a lot about how hard everyone in Tirlán has worked to maintain and build it.
With the recent unpleasantness still front of mind, I scrolled down the list to see where Kerrygold made an appearance.
Found it, eventually, down in 31st place.
Whatever about competition in international markets, it seems Tirlán is winning the recognition battle at home.
