The Estonian city of Tartu hosted its first pig squealing competition recently in an effort to raise awareness of the struggles the pig sector faces in the Baltic country.
African swine fever (ASF) severely impacted pig farmers in Estonia last year and word reached The Dealer of the event.
Participants had to perform their best impressions of a pig in front of a three-person judging panel.

Anyway, it turns out it’s not the first such contest to be held on the continent with the French Le Championnat de France du Cri de Cochon (French Pig-Squealing Championships) taking place from a number of years after it initially began in 1975.
