The Kerrygold brand has had untold success on foreign markets. Just last week Minister for Agriculture, Simon Coveney, opened the new plant in Nigeria.
In the USA Kerrygold is the number one selling imported butter brand. More significantly, it is the number three overall butter brand, and is on track to achieve 30% growth in the US by the end of 2015.
In September 2014 Ornua, originally the Irish Dairy Board, launched Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur launched in September 2014 in the US. Dubliner Cheese is the number one Cheddar in USA.
This mention of Kerrygold on Kourtney's website and app could give the Kerrygold brand a further boost in the US and indeed across the world.
Kourtney Kardashian is the eldest Kardashian sister and she launched her new app and website on Monday. Her love of organic and natural food is well documented on her family's TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, with the mother-of-three's food choices often mentioned on the programme. She has 30m followers on Instagram and a further 16.9m on Twitter.
This isn't the first time the Kardashians have been linked to Ireland, visiting Cork, Limerick and Laois. Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye honeymooned in Ireland in 2014. Her mother Kris also spent her honeymoon in Ireland, with her then-husband Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn Jenner).
Earlier this year Odile Evans visited the Kerrygold plant in Germany. 25kg blocks of Irish butter arrive at the plant and are reworked into premium butter products for the German market.
