The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is on the hunt for a new director general. The incumbent Laura Burke has held the post for the past 14 years and is coming to the end of her term.
The job, which is based in Johnstown Castle in Wexford, comes with a tidy salary of €207,912 when personal pension contributions are accounted for.
I took a gawk at the job spec to see if The Dealer would qualify. While I won’t be applying any time soon, the spec says that the EPA is entering into a “period of substantial change”, with the new boss “required to lead a process of change and renewal to meet new operational challenges”.

These challenges include the EPA’s role with regard to implementing permits for activities which impact the environment and climate legislation.
