Tirlán vice-chair Larry Hannon was keen to smooth things over amid the ongoing ‘butter wars’ at last week’s Kildare IFA dairy meeting.
With Ornua’s Shane Henry and Jeanne Kelly presenting on Ornua’s workings, Hannon assured the room that communications between Tirlán and Ornua were “very good at the moment”.
Clearly keen to stop any spread of butter-related tensions, he stressed that there was no disparity between the two organisations’ ambitions.
Both, he insisted, were working towards the same goal, which is securing the best possible milk price for farmers.
