DEAR SIR: A full page of an Eirgrid advertisement, with nine lovely people, young and old, recently appeared in the Irish Farmers Journal.
There isn’t a hint or a glint, not a post, pole or pylon in the background. This advertisement, which is supposed to be promoting pylons, is actually saying: “You will be happier without them.”
Thank you Eirgrid for telling the truth, by accident.
In the text, the soft language of “managing”, “responding”, “examining” and “reviewing” is used. This is only a smokescreen for what is being done and what will be done. Next time, Eirgrid should take photographs of people with pylons in the background scenery so that we can see what we can really expect. Who is smiling now?
I am not a member of any anti-Eirgrid campaign – I am too busy calving cows – but I still like to keep informed via print media.
