It was smiles all round on the way into the IFA AGM on Wednesday where the newly elected president, Joe Healy, will officially take up the position along with the new chairs of each committee.

Outgoing and incoming chairs alike are in attendance at the meeting in the Irish Farm Centre. Tim O’Leary will be speaking as outgoing deputy president before Joe Healy’s address.
Incoming chairs include Angus Woods, chairman of the IFA livestock committee, Thomas Cooney, chairman of the IFA environment and rural affairs committee, John Finn, chairman of the IFA liquid milk committee, Martin Stapleton, chairman of the IFA national farm business committee, and Joe Brady, chairman of the IFA national rural development committee.
A number of elections will also take place, most notably for the position of treasurer and the rules and privileges committee.

There is also expected to be a vote on a motion from Roscommon which may help to resolve the Connacht impasse.
