Dairy prices increased by 0.6% at Tuesday’s Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction to an average of €3,604/t.

Butter prices were up 2.5% to €4,871/t, while powder prices also increased.

Whole milk powder prices were up 1.2%, to an average of €3,238/t and skim milk powder prices were up marginally by 0.2% to average €3,049/t.

Cheddar prices fell by 1.3% to average €3,915/t and anhydrous milk fat prices fell by 1.6% to average €5,446/t.

Increases in price were also witnessed for mozzarella and lactose prices.

It is the second consecutive rise in prices at the Global Dairy Trade.

The price lift comes as Irish processors continue to set April milk prices, with ArraTipp and Dairygold both setting prices in recent days.
