Secretary of shows association has van stolen from farmyard

Secretary of the Irish Shows Association Jim Harrison had his Volkswagon Caddy van with registration 09 LH 277 stolen from his yard on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred at around 5am, when he said masked individuals entered his yard between Oram and Crossmaglen.

“They defended themselves and were abusive enough to my son who was in the yard,” Harrison said.

“We never got anything stolen in this yard, ever, until this morning, but at the moment it is rampant.

“There is a lot of stealing going on in the area at the minute – sheep and cattle too. I was talking to a neighbour earlier who got robbed in broad daylight.

“It is happening a lot, I would urge people to be vigilant,” Harrison said.
