Annie Dunne was travelling around Australia and in November she began working on a farm to fulfil the number of days of regional work required to extend her working holiday visa for a second year. While working on the farm one day her hair got stuck in a conveyor belt, causing huge damage to her scalp. She is the daughter of Pat Dunne of Pat Dunne Agri Contractors and brother to Damien Dunne, who has recently joined his father in the business.

On Saturday 5 December, some 260 tractors arrived at Nenagh mart in spite of Storm Desmond's heavy rain and strong winds to help raise funds towards the cost of Annie's medical expenses and travel expenses for her family.

Damien Dunne, Annie's brother, told the Irish Farmers Journal that the run went "very well", with traffic stewards and guards coming out to help direct it. "They were absolutely soaked," he said. "But they were there helping us out all the same."

The run began at 2pm on Saturday afternoon at Nenagh mart, went around by Abbey Machinery and down the main street before ending at Buddy's Bar in Capparoe.

Damien said tractors were a mix of vintage and modern and ranged from 50 horsepower to 300 horsepower. "The John Deere was definitely the most popular," he said.

Damien will be going out to visit his sister in two weeks time while her parents have been there since the accident occurred in November.

The Dunnes have set up a page where members of the public can donate to help her family with the cost of travelling and medical expenses. Those who would like to donate can visit her 'My Cause' page here.
