A new app containing comprehensive information regarding all veterinary medicines has just been made available.
The Compendium of Veterinary Medicines has been a trusty bible for decades, regularly updated.
Now it can be downloaded to your phone or tablet free of charge. Information regarding the active ingredients, animals sanctioned for use, recommended usage rates and withdrawal periods are all contained in the app. Any changes in products and product recommendations will be updated as they happen.
Real-time info
Launching the compendium, produced by the Animal and Plant Health Association (APHA), Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed said: “The new app will allow prescribers and users of veterinary medicines to access information on a real-time basis when and where they need it.”
The veterinary compendium contains more than 600 products and can be downloaded free of charge now for Apple or Android phones.
APHA animal health chair Fergal Morris said: “APHA members are committed to supporting farmers and vets with practical solutions that help them in providing a high standard of animal healthcare and safety.
“The new Compendium of Veterinary Datasheets app demonstrates this and we encourage all vets, pharmacists, farmers and those professionally concerned with the health treatment of animals to download and install the new compendium app to their Apple or Android mobile device.”
