In the June milk leagues published last week, Table B outlining the prices paid to a 1m litre producer has been revised to take account of Glanbia Cheese altering the criteria for its 0.4p/l mozzarella bonus.

The published price for average quality milk was 24.78p/l and calculated at 3.84% butterfat and 3.19% protein. From May to August, the qualifying criteria for the mozzarella bonus has now been lowered to a base of 3.84% butterfat, 3.15% protein, 225 SCC and 25 TBC.

Applying the revised criteria to average quality milk brings the Glanbia Cheese price to 25.18p/l for June, ranking it third in the monthly table behind Glanbia Milk/Fivemiletown.

For the 12 month rolling league table ending June 2020, it increases the Glanbia Cheese price from 25.88p/l to 25.91p/l and keeps the Magheralin processor in fifth spot.
