At the January tender for the sale of skim milk powder (SMP) out of public intervention, on Thursday morning, some 1,864t of product was sold out of the measure.

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that the product was sold out of intervention at minimum price of €1,190/t and the stock sold was older stock in the measure.

Despite it being the first significant sale of SMP out of the measure by the European Commission, the product was sold below the intervention price of €1,698/t.
