Roscommon Mart was brought to a standstill on Tuesday night as a Limousin bull weanling sold for over €10/kg.
The high-seller came in the form of a Limousin-sired bull from the Davies family from Galway.
With a red and white roan coat, he weighed 415kg and sold for €4,250.
Sire of the January 2020-born bull is the easy-calving Dovea AI bull Elderberry Galahad, more commonly known by his code of EBY.
Dam of the sale-topper is a Belgian Blue-cross cow by Torres de l’Ecluse.
The Carrick Winter Fair used to be the only place in recent years where prices like this were achievable.
Maybe following last week’s cancellation of the 2020 event, we may see a lot more of these bigger prices at marts all over the country.
