Former IFA president Padraig Walshe has failed in his bid to join the board of Glanbia co-op. Sitting board member Jer Doheny retained his seat for the north Kilkenny region. Doheny thus maintains his position on the boards of Glanbia co-op and Glanbia Ireland, but not the plc, to which only 10 of the 14 farmer directors are currently nominated.
That number falls to eight this year, so the elections in June (where the directors themselves elect the plc nominees) will be keenly fought.
