The supply of land to the Kerry market in 2018 was tight. This was evident when speaking with auctioneers around the county. Farms situated in traditionally more productive areas of Kerry were the tightest of them all. Holdings around parts of north Kerry, Killarney and Tralee were few and far between. This is why the 49-acre agricultural property at Killarney is expected to generate some local attention.
Located at Tullig, Spa – circa 4km outside Killarney – the property is non-residential. The aesthetics of the farm is an obvious selling point. Auctioneer handling the sale, Tom Spillane, told Irish Country Living that the elevated nature of the farm ensures that the panoramic views of the McGillycuddy Reeks, the surrounding lakes and the town are spectacular.
Presented in one block, it is laid out in grass. The land has not been intensively farmed over the last few years, so investment may be needed to extract the maximum potential the farm offers.

It is well-fenced and there is a water supply on site. The property has been run as a mixed farming enterprise, consisting of beef and sheep, up to the present day.
The offering
This farm will be offered by public auction on 3 April at the Royal Hotel in Killarney at 3pm. The guide on the farm is €10,000/ac. Notably, the farm was offered by private treaty last year, before being withdrawn with the view to be auctioned in April.
