The report, which was authored by Senator Martin Conway, includes contributions from farming organisations and public stakeholders. The consultation process for the report opened in December and closed in January.
Seanad Leas-Chathaoirleach and Committee Chairman, Senator Denis O’Donovan said the report will be submitted to Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney.
“Our report is directly informed by the views of the Irish farming community – young and old – as well as the various organisations which represent them," he said. "We hope that [Minister Coveney] and the Health and Safety Authority will consider this report and its recommendations carefully and that he will utilise as many of them as possible in developing future farm safety policy.”
